The Wonder of Winter

I hold a romantic view of winter in my mind. If I am not thinking of snow, I think of the low sun glistening through the bare trees casting long shadows on the ground. I think of chilled air, a stillness and peace as though everything is holding it’s breath or sleeping. I think of white and silver and a gentle sparkle of frost. Winter can be incredibly beautiful. And that’s why Emma and Jonathan used it to inspire the style and theme of their wedding.

A forest of wintery trees, reindeer and a subtle silver tone could be seen through out Jonathan and Emma’s wedding. Those wintery trees shaped the stationary and the table decorations. Elegant reindeer were used for the table plan and cake and added to the enchanting winter feel. The bridesmaid dresses from Mint Velvet, were a stunning shade of silver which tied it all together. It was totally beautiful and so tastefully done.

Romsey Abbey and Sopley Mill were perfect venues: The grandeur and beauty of Romsey Abbey helped them celebrate a moment that is such a big deal - in true English style. And then Sopley pulled it all in to give the rest of the day a lovely romantic, intimate feel. And so my romantic view of winter was upheld. All day, the low sun glistened through the silvery trees and cast a softness and a stunning stillness over the land. It was winter at it’s best.

Emma and Jonathan are such genuine, down to earth and very lovely couple. And they both come from families much the same! Both families showed off what family should be. They clearly love each other, they are for each other and they get the importance of it. Despite the fact that they live on opposite sides of the world, when they are together, they are together and it was so beautiful to see. Not only was it totally wonderful to get to know you guys, it was such a treat to photograph you and your stunning day. Thank you for having us. We loved every second.

P.s. Jonathan’s mum and dad should go in to business making stationary! ;)
